First post of the day, as I'm sure there will be more...

Just dropped off [livejournal.com profile] emmalyon at Newark Airport...she's heading out to SF for a week of work-type stuff...which leaves me at work a half hour early, but I'm not complaining, because I'll be taking Friday off so I can zip up to MA and get the rest of my stuff. It's going to be a crazy couple of weeks leading up to our move, but hopefully we'll get everything done before the movers come. I'm sure it'll all work out...

So here's the tentative schedule of what needs to be done this week:

--drop off car at the garage of people who are buying it (Most likely Wednesday)
--drop plates at nearest DMV
--cook chicken in the fridge before it goes bad
--continue with cd purge/rip project
--clean out desk, bureau, and night stand
--call an auto glass place to replace windshield on Emm's car (fixing it tomorrow)
--mail thank you notes (yeah, they're late, but I'm doin' 'em!)
--possibly drop stuff off at Salvation Army dropoffs if I have stuff to get rid of
--head home on Thursday night
--make a surprise visit at YC to see the old gang one more time--might end up going in insanely early so I can catch the shift switch and see Bruce as well
--pack as much as I can into the car on Friday/Saturday
--leave EARLY on Sunday so Emm can get the car and visit her aunt

Yeah. Gonna be a very busy week for me...

More later...

...driving on back roads...Newbury Comics...Amherst...Keene...Northampton...Boston...The bar in South Deerfield...friends at Yankee Candle, too numerous to mention...jamming with Bruce and Eric in Bruce's basement...[livejournal.com profile] head58's gaming weekends...walking through the snow in the winter...going to the writer cons in Boston and Burlington...hiking through the woods...writing novels in the basement...friends at the former HMV...WAMH 89.3...WFNX 92.1...the sound of frogs chirping in the swamp across the street...never having too much funk on the Merritt Parkway...the Toadstool Book Shop in Keene...Barnes & Noble in Leominster...the thrill of buying new cds on release day...going up to my sister's house for New Years Eve...IMing [livejournal.com profile] emmalyon nearly every night before I moved down to NJ...friends I've met and made online and in RL since March...everyone who made it or sent a gift or a card for our belated wedding reception...more things than I can remember, that I want to mention...

...and of course, family.

Two weeks and counting.

I'm not sad that I'm leaving the East Coast, but I will miss it when I'm gone. Just thought I'd thank all of you for making the last ten years (the post-Boston years) bearable for me. :)

This novel is finished...all that's left is the denouement. Time to start anew.

There are places I'll remember
All my life though some have changed
Some forever not for better
Some have gone and some remain
All these places have their moments
With lovers and friends I still can recall
Some are dead and some are living
In my life I've loved them all

But of all these friends and lovers
There is no one compares with you
And these memories lose their meaning
When I think of love as something new
Though I know I'll never lose affection
For people and things that went before
I know I'll often stop and think about them
In my life I love you more

Though I know I'll never lose affection
For people and things that went before
I know I'll often stop and think about them
In my life I love you more
In my life I love you more
