People and Things That Went Before
Nov. 28th, 2005 12:06 pm...driving on back roads...Newbury Comics...Amherst...Keene...Northampton...Boston...The bar in South Deerfield...friends at Yankee Candle, too numerous to mention...jamming with Bruce and Eric in Bruce's basement...
head58's gaming weekends...walking through the snow in the winter...going to the writer cons in Boston and Burlington...hiking through the woods...writing novels in the basement...friends at the former HMV...WAMH 89.3...WFNX 92.1...the sound of frogs chirping in the swamp across the street...never having too much funk on the Merritt Parkway...the Toadstool Book Shop in Keene...Barnes & Noble in Leominster...the thrill of buying new cds on release day...going up to my sister's house for New Years Eve...IMing
emmalyon nearly every night before I moved down to NJ...friends I've met and made online and in RL since March...everyone who made it or sent a gift or a card for our belated wedding reception...more things than I can remember, that I want to mention...
...and of course, family.
Two weeks and counting.
I'm not sad that I'm leaving the East Coast, but I will miss it when I'm gone. Just thought I'd thank all of you for making the last ten years (the post-Boston years) bearable for me. :)
This novel is finished...all that's left is the denouement. Time to start anew.
There are places I'll remember
All my life though some have changed
Some forever not for better
Some have gone and some remain
All these places have their moments
With lovers and friends I still can recall
Some are dead and some are living
In my life I've loved them all
But of all these friends and lovers
There is no one compares with you
And these memories lose their meaning
When I think of love as something new
Though I know I'll never lose affection
For people and things that went before
I know I'll often stop and think about them
In my life I love you more
Though I know I'll never lose affection
For people and things that went before
I know I'll often stop and think about them
In my life I love you more
In my life I love you more
...and of course, family.
