Four more days
Mar. 2nd, 2005 04:38 pmSo today I managed to get a few last-minute things done, and I still forgot to get gas for the car. D'OH! Anyhoo, I stopped at the bank to transfer some fundage and stop at the Town Hall to get a birth certificate abstract (for when I go get my passport for Worldcon in August)(it's in Glasgow for those who are wondering)(and no, I haven't left the states yet)(well, I've gone to Canada, but that doesn't count. :p )...
Packing up stuff for the move and storing stuff away in big honkin' storage tubs went a hell of a lot more smoothly than I thought. And took up a lot less space than I thought, too. Now all I have to do is clean off my bureau, desk, and a few other things and I'm all set. I'm itching to leave just so I can get all this moving over and done with! ;) As it is, I'm kinda surprised how little I'm actually taking with me for this maiden voyage. Sure, most of my clothes are actually already down in NJ, and I have a finite amount of space to work with, but it just seems like I should be bringing more. Or at least bringing something more important than my big honkin' pile of cds!
Oh, and I'm sending this out to all the people with the leet 'puter skillz: dumb question, but is there such a thing as an extension for a LAN cable? It seems that the one we have set up is several feet short of my desk, and I'm wondering if there's a connector I can buy at Staples or CompUSA so I can add another cable to it and get myself online. I'm not looking for a router, but if it comes to that, it won't be a problem. Anyone?
