Six More Days
Feb. 28th, 2005 03:58 pmBefore I begin, I have to tell all you mashup fans about the genius that is CCC. Check out his site here and be amazed. He's just released a complete mashup of the entire Beatles album Revolver and as a Beatle Geek I approve of it! :)

So anyway.
So I took Monday off and I got my cds packed and cleaned out a few things in my room. The pile I have for the cds is a bit larger than I'd expected it to be, so fitting them all into my car might be a bit of a trick...Well, since a good portion of them are in the 30-count boxes I snagged from HMV ages ago, I can fit them into the nooks and crannies. Another problem is getting them into the trunk, as my trunk latch is not working at present...well, we'll see what happens. Saturday is going to be quite the amusing day, figuring all this out.
Oh, added to the fact that I have to put my 'puter, monitor and printer in the car as well! Something tells me I'm going to be adding quite a bit of weight to ol' Bonaparte...I hope she can handle it!
Well, if all else fails, I'll be coming back next weekend for my sister's birthday so I can stash more stuff in the car then. Going down with only half my cds, though...dunno if I can handle that... :p

The weather is supposed to be really crappy tonight into Tuesday. If the snow is crappy enough, I'll just call out. Like my floor manager said to me: "What are they gonna do--fire you?" :p Either way, I don't mind going in, if the roads are passable. Which, from years of experience, means that's a complete toss-up. ;)

Okay. Decided that I'm not going to bring every single bit of writing with me. There's just not enough space in my car for it! If K. and A. can end up helping me, then I will bring the stuff down. If not, well, I'll live. Most of my writing is on my hard drive anyway, with a few exceptions, so it's not as if I'll be leaving a lot behind. Just all the paper stuff!
Books, on the other hand...gads, I don't know what I'll bring. Like I said, I don't have enormous amounts of room where I'm going, so a lot of stuff will stay up here until further notice. I'm hoping that I can bring down a few reference books though, ones that I use frequently (Flip Dictionary, dictionary, Writer's Market) and a few others. We'll see.

Let it be known that I played my bass and my guitar way too much yesterday at the last-ever-until-I-happen-to-be-up-this-way-and-Eric's-around Jeb! jam session. The fingers on my left hand feel like someone stepped on them and decided to stay there awhile. So yeah, I'm a bit out of practice. :p

So let's see if I can fit my dvds into the car as well. ;)

It occurs to me that I have absolutely no excuse if I can't think of anything to listen to on the way down to NJ on Sunday.

emmalyon and I good luck charms: state quarters from MA and NJ! :p The nifty thing is that the MA one is one year older than the NJ, so that works out perfectly.

Let it be known that I am now officially out of Mountain Dew at this desk. I have not bought any more Dew, as Hannaford's was out of the half-liter bottles. I will be drinking Coke for the rest of the week. I figure this is my personal way of facing the reality that I'm moving on Sunday. :p
