...as the interview with Adecco went well. In fact, it went MORE than well. The guy who helped me was like that squirrel in the Hoodwinked trailers, doing about 84.7 things at once (including calling his wife, which apparently I reminded him to do), but before I even filled out any of the paperwork to update my file (they had the NJ office email the original file over), he already had something lined up for me.

Yes, you read that right.

He already had something lined up for me.

It's a month-long job doing data entry, and it's right on the F line on Market Street so I won't have a problem heading down to work. Pure luck, but hey, I'm not complaining. I just have to take all my nice duds out of the closet and iron them now!

So yeah, I do apologize for whining yesterday. Just didn't expect this to happen so quickly!! :p And I do thank everyone (especially [livejournal.com profile] dazmarzipan ) for the kind words and rooting for me. Just what I needed! Oh, and thanks to [livejournal.com profile] juniperblue for sending that scribendi.com link. I'm setting stuff up now and plan on contacting them soon!

Oh--and on a completely different note, while at Adecco I heard a cover version of "California Dreamin'" on the radio. And it occured to me that that was the first time I'd actually heard a California-themed song on the radio since moving to California. Weird...

And one other thing--Mr. Mailman is still a pinhead. Dropped YET ANOTHER CARD in my mailbox this morning, damn it. But at least this one has the Stockton St. PO listed and not San Jose... *shakes head*

Yay on the job! Here is to paychecks!

I think you need to send yourself a package, then lie in wait the day it is delivered and when the guy drops the card in leap out and say "AHA!"

Is it possible that he doesn't have room for all the packages and so drops the card to let you know it is at the post office because he doesn't even have the package to give to you?

I was wondering about that, but last I knew he actually comes during the morning by truck to drop off the packages and then drops off the small stuff at night (usually about 5:30 or so).

As it happens, I'm not around anymore to catch any of this, so if I get those cards I'll either have to let him drop the stuff off at the door or pick it up on Saturdays. We'll see.
