Yesterday we walked and walked and walked. And did a bit of shopping in the interim. Unsuccessfully shopped for a denim jacket (and eventually ordered one online), bought a nice pullover sweater for myself, had some really good food at a Japanese restaurant in the Westfield Centre food court, bought some creme puffs at BeardPapa (note to Nancy: thumbs up--good stuff! :) ), unsuccessfully shopped for buttons for Emm's recently-finished sweater, bought quite a bit of yarn for Emm's next project, and did some food shopping as well.
Didn't do nearly as much writing as I wanted (read: pretty much squat), but did enjoy some episodes of
Naruto and
One Piece and discussed why we have an absurd liking for
Dragonball Z. Also got the laundry done, proving once again that no one else does the laundry mid-afternoon on Saturdays.
As for today:
Picked up down the street at the local B&N:
--Richard Paul Russo has a new short story out in
Fantasy & Science Fiction!!! w00000t! :D And according to the header of the story, he's in the midst of writing the sequel to
Ship of Fools--The new remaster of
Help! is now in my hands, thanks to
emmalyon who bought it for me as a Valentine's Day present. Thanks, sweetie! :)
--I finally picked up
mizkit's newest book
Heart of Stone after constantly saying I'd get around to buying it. As usual, I will almost always buy (and even sometimes shamelessly plug) published/recorded stuff done by friends and fellow writers. :)
--Emm picked up Branagh's version of
As You Like It, which both of us forgot existed.
--Also picked up the new
Jack Johnson cd, which just came out this week. Good stuff!
And from the World Market next door, a wicker basket to put her knitting stuff in, a half-off bottle of Vampire chardonnay (we now have 3 Vampire wines, one of which I will uncork and drink when
Love Like Blood gets sold), and a few other random things. World Market is a very dangerous store because they have a really good selection of wines, candies, and furniture, all at pretty decent prices and all of which we want to buy at some future point.
And now for some lunch (ranch burgers--yum!), some writing, and watching of Nascar Qualifications and later the Pro Bowl. And perhaps some movie watching and/or apartment cleaning as well.
Me, relax and slack off on a weekend...? Nah.
