For someone who pretty much had five days off in a row, I'm feeling a bit exhausted. I'm pretty sure it's because we had something going on all of those days! Shopping, walking, gardening, cleaning, playing with the cats, driving, visiting the in-laws (twice!), and actually going outside on warm days! It's been a full schedule these last couple of days.

I made the slight mistake of not following up on a very minor mistake in uploading the remastered edition of A Division of Souls so the drop date WAS MISSED AND EVERYTHING IS RUINED FOREVER no, I just fixed it late yesterday and properly it's up and running now. I've also pulled the old edition from the Smashwords site so the new one will take its place. Here's the link of you're so interested!

And yes, I do plan on 'remastering' my older books (at least the trilogy and probably Meet the Lidwells and In My Blue World) over the course of the next couple of years, because they're my books and why the hell not? :)

Anyhoo, I'll be doing my usual Friday-Saturday stupid-early shifts the next couple of days (and wondering what drama unfolded in my absence) and everything will be back to normal. Back to the grind!

See, now this was the week where I actually planned to take multiple days off so A and I could frolic and relax for a few days before Q4 nonsense kicks in. [Read: we weren't planning on going on any vacation trips this year, so instead we take various days off throughout the year like this. One, the current political nonsense going on, and two, cats.] We do have a few destinations in mind, including an olive farm up in Petaluma and some shopping down the peninsula. Other than that, I had very little on the docket other than sleeping in a bit later than usual and enjoying the company of Juli and Cali! :)

Speaking of days off, I'm still getting used to not having to worry about wondering if I'll be working on Sundays or not, and not knowing until the last minute. It's a weight off my mind, and there's a much better chance of us deciding to visit a neighborhood we haven't visited in ages, or heading up to A's parents' house, or just a fun day trip somewhere. I don't feel the least bit guilty about having won that particular battle at work, though it is wild that I'm having to adjust my head around it still.

WOO! Finished my sixth and final day in a row at the day job by powering through two u-boats full of dairy product (noted: the yogurt section is both easy and a pain in the ass to stock as it's similar to the kids' section of a book store: it has its own little area that's easy to navigate but gets pulled all out of order almost immediately). Am now home awaiting my turn to use the laundry downstairs!

So! Are we doing anything this week? Well not too much is set in stone other than sleeping in a bit and going on a few day trips around the area. We'll see what we're in the mood for and where we want to go. A has told me that there is a relatively good chance that money will be spent at book stores, heh! Given that there are many indies around town that we like to stop at, not to mention the B&Ns outside of the city, chances are that my TBR pile will grow once more.

Other non-travel plans will most likely be a Goodwill donation dropoff as the donation pile here in Spare Oom is getting a bit unwieldy; there will also be a lot of writing catch-up! And I will most likely be repeat-listening to the new Cure album as well, as I only got to listen to it that once on Friday.

Hope everyone has a lovely week ahead!

So it's officially been two weeks since I left the former Day Job, considering I ended my run on Tuesday the 31st. It's felt like a two-week staycation, to be honest...I kept myself busy doing errands and sneaking a bit of exercises in there, but I also spent a lot of time unplugging from that particular rat race. If I'm going to get back into the workforce, I want to have a clear mind and a much healthier sense of dedication to it. I'm pretty sure that wherever I go, it won't be nearly as stressful as high level business banking with consistently tetchy systems, that's for sure. I don't think I'll be doing that again.

But yeah...it's been a two-week vacation of not entirely making good on my Grand Best Laid Plans. It frustrates me, sure, but I think those days were needed. Now it's time for me to roll up the sleeves and get back to work. I'm finishing up the Diwa & Kaffi post-production and hope to get it ready for submission in the next few days. I also plan on doing more work on the Next Possible Writing Projects as well.

Let's get moving again.

I've been a lazy sod all week, and I don't feel guilty about that one bit. Yay, vacation! :)

Well, that's not entirely true. I kept up on the blogs, and I've finally gotten caught up in cleaning up my personal emails. [Work emails is another thing entirely. I'll be checking that tomorrow.] But no, I didn't do any writing work. No editing, no formatting work for The Balance of Light, no work on the Lidwells project. No personal journal entries.

All I've been doing is enjoying our vacation the way I should: by not having anything prodding me on the shoulder screaming for attention. Road trips, shopping, just enjoying the day.

That'll probably change tomorrow as both A. and I dig our way through work email detritus and prepare for heading back to our Day Jobs. I'm sure I'll have a backlog of stuff to do (including five or six compliance courses due at the end of the month), which is irritating but part of the script. I'm just hoping that the items I wasn't able to get to were reassigned and weren't just sitting there all week.

That said...I'm looking forward to getting back into the creative groove. I want to get back into the Daily 750 (again), do some serious plot building for the Lidwells Project (time to break out the index cards!), and start planning out what I need to do for BayCon on Memorial Day Weekend!

In other news...our internets are now running at breakneck speed, thanks to switching over to Sonic. The IT guy came in and installed the wiring, the router, and had everything up and running in a matter of a few hours. [He was also a big geek and we had a fun conversation about anime and Doctor Who while he was working! :p ] But yeah...our speed went from a snail's pace to OH HEY I HAD NO IDEA THIS SPEED EXISTED. Like that day, way back in the stone age, when my family went from dial-up to DSL. Heh.

That said...yes, it's been a wonderfully relaxing staycation this week, and I can't complain. We had fun, went on roadtrips, did some fun shopping, and got caught up on sleep. Woot!
