Laptop woes

jon_chaisson It seems my Acer laptop may be in its death throes. Start-up has been getting a lot slower over the last few months, and after a Windows update on Tuesday, it's refusing to open up Windows. I'll try starting it up again this weekend when I have more time, but I'm not being optimistic. The thing is quite old, probably as old as A's laptop (which is also starting to call it quits). Perhaps it's finally time to get an upgrade.
[Edit: I just noticed the previous use of the 'laptop' keyword on my blogs is 2013, so yeah. SIx years is quite a long time for a laptop.]
I haven't looked at new laptops in ages other than recently when we were looking into a new one for A, so perhaps I need to do some research. I know that I don't need it to be too robust. Something for my writing, perhaps some music streaming, perhaps some speed for music recording. I did see some nice units at Best Buy, so we'll see.
In the meantime, it's back to the pc here in Spare Oom for writing until further notice.
