32: Bring the Summer In

I've been waiting to open this long-shuttered window
And bring the summer back into this room I'm in
I've been shuttered away for much too long
Distracted by words, distracted by false meanings
Hidden away from outside interference and influence
Mistakenly believing it was for my own self-interest

I need to open up this window,
It's been closed for way too long
I need to bring the summer in
To remind me that I'm still alive

Seems like it's been a decade since I went outside
The air in here is stagnant and old
Seems like it's been years since that past life of mine
Was last on the course it should have been on
Perhaps it's time to let that light back in
And find my way forward once more

I need to open up this window,
It's been closed for much too long
I need to bring the summer in
To remind me that I'm still alive
