She just bought me this for our 5th wedding anniversary:

It's a Dean Model EAB acoustic bass, the same one I was eyeing at this store up on Clement Street.
Of course, I did order something shiny and purty (and expensive!) for her from Wyrding Studios. :)
Loves ya, sweetie!! :D

Date: 2010-05-23 09:50 pm (UTC)Actually, first song I did with it start-to-finish was Silversun Pickups' "Panic Switch"--the bass line that kicked my ass last year--and realized two things: 1) they either tuned it up a half-note or used a capo, because it's actually in F, and 2) I am SO out of practice. OW.
I will definitely enjoy it...I have it on a guitar stand here in Spare Oom so I can grab it when need be! :)

Date: 2010-05-24 03:52 pm (UTC)Yeah, after I posted that, I pulled out a bunch of late 80s 'college rock' mp3s and played along with them, just like I did when I got my first one way back in the day. Now I want to rerecord all the Flying Bohemians stuff with this thing. Is that bad? :p
