[Writing] National Poetry Month

Call me crazy, Call me freaky, Call me childish, Call me Ishmael but I'm going to participate in National Poetry Month, which starts today, by writing either a whole poem or part of a longer one each day. A NaNoWriMo of sorts, I guess...(NaPoeMo?)

I'm sure most of my poems will end up being crap, but if I hold myself to this for the whole month, I think I'll at least come up with something halfway decent. And if it does, I'll post it here. Yeehaw! :)

I saw someone else mention it on their LJ, but had no idea April was National Poetry month.

I'd love to be able to write poetry, but, alas, I do NOT have that talent.

Well, I don't reckon myself much of a poet, as I've never really studied how to write poems...I pretty much created my own version of it--basically just writing scenes or images in an abstract way. Sometimes it's good, sometimes it stinks. :p

I'm sure there are those out there who'll say I'm doing it wrong! Like I responded above, I just put pencil to paper and roll with it...very much like how I write prose as well. I don't really pay attention to how it's done, I just do it because I like it. :p

It's why I write it. And I don't know much about form...I just write.
