Yep, this is the time of year when the Bay Area gets hit with its version of winter--that is, rain, rain, rain, a little more rain, lower than usual temperatures, followed up by a bit of rain.

Which of course means that George Rask on KRON4 is just this side of yelling "SLOW THE **** DOWN" at the morning commuters. I'm counting at least 8 accidents reported on that channel as of 7am (I turned the TV on around 6ish), including two fatalities. It really amazes me how people out here just don't understand what hydroplaning and black ice is...sure, they didn't experience it as much as I have in my life, but that should have nothing to do with it. Then again...this is California, the "I was here first" state, so there ya go...

ANYHOO. Have to brave the nastiness outside today to head to a second day of jury duty, as they didn't finish with jury deliberations. Fun! Now if I can get the apartment to warm up too...

We had the heavy rains yesterday. It's supposed to rain more today and tomorrow, but it doesn't look like rain outside now.

It is, however, 39, and that's just COLD for down here.

How cold is it up there?

It's supposed to be upper 40s, low 50s all week, with down to the 30s overnight. Normally that wouldn't bother me (you know, hearty New England stock and all that ;) ), but combined with sea air and rain, it's just miserable.

But yeah, upper 30s for SoCal is pretty damn cold!!! O_o...
