Jersey, we are go
Feb. 8th, 2005 07:51 pmIn the next few weeks I have to (in semi-order):
--pack clothes n' stuff
--go on vacation (all week w/
emmalyon, of course...)
--collect all my writing and pack it up
--debate whether or not to bring my vast amounts of tunage or just a portion of it
--try to remember to fill out all the change-of-address forms that need to be filled out
--work for a few more weeks
--give my two weeks' notice
--pack for NJ
--say sayonara to YC
--so long, b'bye Inkspot, been nice knowin' ya
ADDITION: I forgot to add that my friend Bruce wants to jam one more time before I go. I really hope I can do that! :) JEB ROOLZ! :D
Someone please kick me in the ass and get me going. I'm quite far behind on readying myself on this as it is...

Date: 2005-02-09 03:55 am (UTC)You seem to have tentative ones, such as "give two week's notice" and so on...but do you have a WHEN that starts?
Maybe plan for this to happen the moment you get back from your 1) vacation with Emm? (Not sure what's happening in your schedule). Like the day before the vacation is your last "just-planning" day. The Day after the vacation, you start a-packin' and arrangin'...physically. It's a good landmark!
It's good to have mental-preparedness before a change, but don't let it dissolve into eternal mental-preparedness. By the way, you will never be READY, (humans never are) so just accept that and give yourself time to mentally understand what you're doing, then ACT!
2) Choose when you are going to give notice. GIVE notice.
(That DOES a lot. Your workplace will constantly reinforce the "I'm moving" part. The fact that you will soon no longer have a place of employment is also a "move-it, buster". Use those 2 weeks well!
I'm going to stop there because my alter ego "Big Sister" is starting to surface and I'm sure you can do everything yourself. (grin)
As one Aquarian to another, our sign often does things that are avant guarde and daring. Many other signs wouldn't do these things...won't have the guts! You do! Take pride in that!
So, when can we expect you to have a New Jersey address? :D

Date: 2005-02-09 06:21 am (UTC)My friend Carrot called me up just to vent about her work and I ended up on this going-to-be-long diatribe about what she should say and...finally caught myself.
Gak. Take it or leave it, but no harm meant...

Date: 2005-02-09 09:03 pm (UTC)Just so you know, I do have a "quitting" date, which is March 4. So basically, go to NJ next week, and come back and tell my boss I'm giving my two weeks' notice. :) I just didn't want to post it just yet, as not everyone in my family knew at the time I posted that. :)
