Man suspected of calling 911 over 27,000 times.

Mind you, this is a 45-year old man from Hayward who's been doing it since last May. They just caught him Wednesday after tracking his cell phone down.

The best part of the article? The last two lines:

His explanation for all those calls?

Triplette told police, "Because it's free."

My favorite was the description of how he pushed the "beep" button. I am guessing he was just pushing number keys. :)

Yeah, I was wondering where the "beep" button was located on *my* phone! :D

Someone needed to have clued the bozo in that free does not translate to legal.
