[INSERT HELICOPTER SFX]

Well, looks like they're still doing the torch relay...they haven't said anything otherwise yet. The route is supposed to go right by our apartment, coming east down Bay on its way back to the Embarcadero. So far it's been relatively quiet here...no protesters as of yet. We've got KRON4 on the TV...

Aaaaaand apparently some of the protesters may have found the bus that was taking some of the torch (they're not saying if it is or not), and they've also said that they might cut the 6-mile relay short.

In all honesty, I'm not sure what I'm feeling about all this. I mean, I can understand where some of the protesters are coming from. But at the same time...they're just pissing me off, just like most SF protesters do here, taking everything to overemotional, overdramatic extremes.

But anyway. Enough ranting. For now, anyway. I might later if things go downhill.

However, since I have tier seating here on the route, if it does happen to go by our apartment, I will take pictures and/or video with my camera.

EDIT: Well, so much for that. Just heard that the Wharf/Marina bit has been dropped; it'll just go up and back down the Embarcadero. Man, this is just getting weirder and weirder...

EDIT: ...aaaand, they're doing...something?

EDIT: ...HOLY COW THEY'RE GOING UP VAN NESS. I find it very ironic that I could have easily watched most of this from the comfort OF MY DESK AT WORK, as the window next to me looks out over the SoMA/Mission area.

EDIT: aaaand, they're going to the Marina, why?

EDIT: Feh. I give up.

Well, aside from the insanity of the Olympic Torch Relay (or lack thereof, or whatever), it's been a rather good day. We both got a lot done with cleaning the apartment (it looks nice and shiny here now), did a bit of shopping, and all I need to do now is try to get a hold of Management about the laundry situation.

And while I'm at it, I may just actually do some laundry...just not use the craptastic dryers that don't want to work. ;)

And since it's only about 3:30 here, I'll also be able to do some writing as well (more on that later over at [livejournal.com profile] die_joncswerk--I'm doing outlines now!)

And have I mentioned that the weather is BYOOOOTIFUL here right now? Mid-60s and not a cloud in the sky. :)

ETA: Talked with Maintenance. Come to find out they have a new person there, who actually looks to be on the ball and is proactive...and they had someone come in on Monday to work on the nonfunctioning dryers for most of that day. And the best part? They might end up taking that $8.00 I wasted off of our next month's rent! :)

So yeah, pretty much did everything I set out to do today. All I need to do now is write!
