So with
head58's latest YouTube-themed post and my response, it dawned on me that I could easily do a video-themed post that would dovetail nicely with my Radio Radio posts from last year (in fact, it would be more on par with what I'd wanted to do in the first place with those posts).
I probably won't start the posts now, as I'm preparing for WorldCon, but I could at least make plans for it. I'm thinking of keeping the reminiscing to a minimum and letting the music (or in this case, the videos) tell the story. The only thing I'm unsure about is how to post some of the years that I've skimmed over with the RR posts. In particular, the 1983-1987 post (Part I). I'm thinking of following the original posts, in that most of my immersion in alt.rock started around 1986, so I'd post links to various Cure and Smiths and Depeche Mode videos. Of course once 1988 rolls around I'd post a gazillion links, or at least as many as I could find. And, if I'm really feeling generous, posting YouSendIt links so the songs would be available for listening for a very brief time (one week, as is the YSI rule).
If anyone has requests/suggestions/comments/complaints, please let me know here! And I would definitely accept any suggestions/requests for songs and videos to include.
