Soon after the release of
The Adventures of Pete & Pete on DVD, here's two more cool things finally available on DVD:
Dangermouse! IIRC, I think it was 5:30 after You Can't Do That on Television on Nickelodeon. And the first two seasons probably had some of the goofiest episodes ever. I can't wait to pick this one up...
and
Rock & Rule. It was a mid-eighties Xanadu-meets-Bladerunner sort of story and really cheesy, but it was a lot of fun to watch. And you can't go wrong when A)Debbie Harry, Iggy Pop, Cheap Trick, and Lou Reed are involved, B)The music isn't really that painful, C)one of the secondary characters looks like the lead singer of Jesus Jones, and D)It's Canadian. ;) Oh, and E)The deluxe edition has the director's previous effort, the little-remembered television special
The Devil and Daniel Mouse.
Yeah, this promises to be a season of cool dvd releases... :p
