Random images, thoughts, and scenes:

BOSTON, MA: the parking deck where Brigham's Ice Cream used to be on Cambridge Street, completely redone with a four-story office/commercial building filling the front part. The remaining deck looking completely different from how I remember it.

GREENFIELD, MA: the clearing out of trees on the side of the hill, just under the train bridge at Cheapside, on the road that was part of my commute from YC.

BOSTON, MA: Showing [livejournal.com profile] emmalyon the Emerson College campus--or what used to be the campus, pointing out the various places I used to hang out, like the library, the classrooms, the dorms, the student union. Stopping at Despina's Pizza for a good sub. Stopping at Comicopia for some comic-type stuff. Hanging out with her at the Boston Common, just lying on the grass and relaxing.

PEEKSKILL, NY: Bear Mountain Bridge, one of the coolest places in upstate New York. Definitely worth the long trek via Rt. 202 from northern Connecticut all the way to Jersey. I definitely need to go there simply to enjoy the view. (EDIT:The feeling of being in a car commercial on the twisty, windy road to said bridge.)

ATHOL, MA: Sleeping in the upstairs apartment, something I haven't done in years. The strange quietness of the neighborhood. Seeing family again.

BOSTON, MA: The changes taking place at the end of Charles Street. The walkway over the street no longer there. Buzzy's replaced by a patch of grass. Wondering what that T stop is going to look like when it's done.

CAMBRIDGE, MA: Saddened by Wordsworth Bookstore not being there anymore. Ended up spending money at the Harvard Bookstore down the street, though, so things evened out. Ate a terrific dinner at Daedalus Restaurant on Mt. Auburn Street while it rained for a total of five minutes while still sunny out.

WHATELY, MA: Stopping for food at the Fillin' Station on the way up, enjoying some fried clams, something I haven't had in ages. The rain following us but not quite catching up.

BOSTON, MA: Impressed by the fact that a lot of the buildings in downtown have been getting a bit of a facelift and looking really nice.

NORTHAMPTON, MA: [livejournal.com profile] emmalyon showing me around her old haunts at Smith College. Being very impressed not only by the campus itself, but by the historical buildings, the beautiful houses, and the amazing greenhouses. Being constantly inspired by this campus enough to want to use some of it in my WIP, Dreamweaver. And being jealous that she had a campus...

ATHOL, MA: Listening to four different conversations going on in two different rooms, all at the same time with the entire family in tow. Feeling at home.

BOSTON, MA: Somewhat annoyed at the uberchicness of lower Newbury Street. It's become a little too snooty for my tastes, even the upper end, where it used to be Slacker Central.

BOONTON, NJ: Tired, but glad to be home.
