So we're at Fisherman's Wharf yesterday...

...and aside from the fact that every single out-of-towner was there and diligently practicing the walking-straight-but-looking-elsewhere walk (or its variant, the stopping-suddenly-without-realizing-someone-could-be-walking-behind-you full stop), we found to our horror that many of the restaurants down there do not have fried clams. Fried shrimp, New England Clam Chowder (in bread bowls, even!), giant pretzels...but no fried clams. At. All.

Why, in the name of all that is good, don't they have them?!??

*snif*

We couldn't even find them at the Safeway. :(

lynxreign, if you could send a few bags of those along with your shipment of Taylor ham to us, that would be wonderful, thanks! :)

I'd've been happy with any of the other food items you listed! Particularly the clam chowder in a bread bowl. Sour dough. Yum!

Then again, I do know how it is when you're hungry for one thing in particular and just can't find it! May you soon start craving something that is easily obtained! I'm off to stalk breaded cod!

Well, okay, so there were some restaurants that have fried clams. I probably should have phrased it as "fried clams that didn't cost over $25 for two plates of them".

Suffice to say we stopped once again at our favorite Irish pub, Tiernan's (http://www.tiernans.com/) (they have a Boston branch too? Who knew? :p ). Good food, excellent fries (er, 'chips'), good beer, and a killer brownie sundae. :)

I've encountered both of those variant of walks...this is why I *love* art museums so. Such a trial for an artist...
