Merry Samhain, too all of you Wiccans out there... :)

--------------------

Daylight Savings Time started! w0000t! Which means I'm actually getting up with the sun again, instead of tripping my way through the semi-darkness to feed the excessively verbal kitty!

Interestingly enough this is the first time in quite awhile that I hadn't noticed the shortening of days like I used to. Of course, being on the road driving to work at 5am does make you notice things like that. Like getting in the car when it's still dark out and getting to work just as dawn is breaking. Now I only notice it getting darker when I wake up in the morning. And this morning I had the sun in my face while I ate my breakfast on the couch.

On the plus side I've been able to watch the foliage as it changes down this way. It's not as abundant as it is up in my old neck of the woods (no pun intended), but it's equally as pretty. I know I'll miss looking out of the kitchen window at the old house and seeing a forest full of color, but I'm sure I'll be able to see that elsewhere... As Emm and I drove around and did our shopping yesterday we saw a lot of turning colors, especially through the more suburban parts of Parsippany. And the weather was just peachy. :)

--------------------

This coming weekend there's a good chance I might head up to the house and go through a goodly amount of my stuff, thus starting off Weekend One of Jonc's Clean Sweep. Emm may or may not be coming with me, depending on certain circumstances, but we'll see. But either way, I do hope to get through at least a portion of stuff. I'm thinking I'll start with the stuff in my closet and the two bookshelves in my old bedroom. And if I have time, the stuff in the garage as well. That would leave me with everything in the basement and the old cellar, where the majority of the stuff is. Note to self: BRING BOXES AND STORAGE TUBS!

--------------------

Being that I'll be on the other side of the coast, this of course means that there will be very few days left in which I can stop at many of my old haunts. I was thinking of this the other day and told Emm about that, realizing that there are some places I'd want to go before leaving the coast...one of those "one last time" sort of things.

I figure Boston is out, as Emm and I went there a few times already this year and I saw most of my old haunts then. Same with the Valley stops...we did more than our share of that during the weekend of our party! :)

Keene? Well, barring any lingering water damage up there, if some of the stores are still open, I'll stop up there.

And of course I already have it planned that I'd stop at the YC warehouse to see my friends.

So that would leave, oddly enough, going down to Marlborough to the old mall. Okay, first off, why would I want to go to the mall, especially since HMV isn't even there anymore?? Well, partly just to see it one last time, partly because I wrote 90% of a novel at its food court, and partly because they recently opened a Newbury Comics there.

Which of course means that I'd need to stop at the Newbury Comics and B&N in Leominster as well. I'll probably do all three in one go. :)

--------------------------

Now I need to post this so I can get on with the boxing-up of files and whatnot. Thursday my "office" is being moved to the next building over. Yeehaw! :p

More later....
