jon_chaisson Multiple doses of cold and allergy medicine and Airborne seems to have done the trick, though there were a few times I was tempted to call in sick and take the day off. It was mostly gone by yesterday afternoon, leaving only allergies and a hell of a sinus headache. Yay for breathing again!
In other news, the course of the Apartment Complex story has taken quite an unexpected and very interesting route. Well, more to the point -- it's going in the direction I'd WANTED it to go in the first place (finally!), and it's opening up more history about the characters than I'd expected. I think utilizing the process that I did over the last few weeks did the trick! It's given me a lot to think about, that's for sure. More on this later on when I have more to report!
As for In My Blue World, I am definitely in Act III of this novel, and I think I'm coming close to the climax. The tricky part here -- as it always is with any novel I write -- is that I get super detailed and deliberate on the pacing. I'd hate to rush the ending, even though this is just the first rough draft. There's a lot of plot points to thread together, and I need to do them perfectly and in the right order. The other tricky part is once I'm done, which is the revision. And OH MAN that first revision is almost always hell. Pointless bits I need to excise, important later bits that I have to build up earlier in the story. And yet somehow I always look forward to it...? Go figure.
