Midweek Update Is Feeling Groovy

Can't complain. Things are going pretty good this week. The Day Job hasn't been a bear for the last few weeks so I can actually breathe and think about other non-Day Job things for a few minutes now and again. It's been relatively cool and clear the last few days and we've had the windows open to let some fresh air in. A. and I are once again making concerted efforts to go to the gym more often, which is also a good thing.
And most importantly, I've figured out a way to work on both the Apartment Complex story and In My Blue World without feeling stressed out or bogged down. The funny thing is that it's a simple answer: work on the easier one first. IMBW is being such a fun process at the moment and moving so smoothly that I'm writing that for my afternoon practice words on 750Words. By the time my evening writing session comes around, I don't feel irritable, which is showing in the longhand work I'm putting in for the AC.
Speaking of... I've decided that I'm just going to ignore my frustration at the crappy repeated attempts at writing the opening and just soldier forward with the story. It occurred to me that I have multiple versions of the opening at this point, and I think I might be able to salvage the best one or maybe create a hybrid of the best parts of each. [I'm okay with this, because this is EXACTLY how I wrote The Phoenix Effect way back in the day.] The important thing here right now is to move FORWARD with this story and worry about the crappy parts later.
Other than that...it's been a pretty slow morning here, so I'm just going to listen to my Day Job team meeting and drink my coffee. Hope everyone's having a good week!
