50: Nah Nah Nah
Nov. 27th, 2011 05:49 pmSome songs they stay with you,
Milling about your head like an earworm,
Regardless as to whether you love them
Or make you want to claw your brain out.
There's always one out there,
Like the Beatles' "Hey Jude",
A perfect single recorded during a turbulent time.
It makes you sit there, listening to nothing else,
Wondering how in the hell they did that:
Wrote something so simple yet so moving,
Something that strikes your heart just so,
And makes you realize that in this crazy world,
There's still a moment of absolute beauty
That can take a sad song and make it better.

Date: 2011-11-28 02:45 am (UTC)I'm listening to the Beatles' 1 album right now, and it occurred to me that I've never written a poem about or featuring the Beatles, so there ya go!
