*sigh*

I hate sinus headaches. Especially when they're based in one particular place. In this case, my left ear. I keep worrying that it'll get infected like it did last time, but since I've been taking ibuprofen (and sometimes an antihistamine) now and again and I'm not sticking foreign objects in there (except my elbow, of course), it's gone down. I can handle it, it's just annoying as hell when it feels like I have something stuck in my ear and I don't quite hear everything.

Hopefully this will all go away in a few days. It's getting better, actually, as the pressure isn't as nasty as it was the other day (although a slight twinge of pain kicks in now and again). I have to keep myself from getting stressed out or it won't go away. The stress is mainly from remembering that I am currently without insurance (this will probably change when Emm gets the chance to change her coverage and put me on it). Calm thoughts...calm thoughts...calm thoughts... :p

In other news, I was so tired last night that I passed out during the Freakish Storm from Hell! That's gotta be a good thing... ;)

I am right there with you. This cold/sinus infection I am fighting may get the best of me today. I need to go through the pile of work on my desk, put it in the order it needs to be done, then see which comes first, 4:00-4:30 when I leave to get the Cuddlebug, or me giving up and going home sick. Right now I am 60:40 for going home.

On the Insurance thing, when will she add you? I know that under a qualified status event, such as a marriage, there is typically a 30 day window retro to the date of the event. If you have to wait for open enrollment I hope it is sooner rather than later.

Good luck!

Update: I am toughing it out at work today and taking tomorrow off. I need to be home in the afternoon for an AC service visit, and asked my boss if I could just take the whole day. Thankfully she said yes and I will try to rest.

I just got over one of these! And yes, I hightailed it to the Drs 'cause if I let it progress, I get laryngitis and worse.

In addition to the "non-drying" Sudafed, my doctor also told me to get a nose spray/drops, etc. It keeps the nasal membrane from going insane...er, dry. Twice a day.

These were all over-the-counter suggestions, so if you find that you'd like to try one of those, give them a whirl!

(My doctor is awesome, always has a homeopathic suggestion along with her Western medical one...)

I was thinking of those spray bottles, but it seems to be receding, thank god! I'll keep that in mind, however. If I can help myself without having to shell out money for the doc, that would work great. :)

Open benefits enrollment is going on now, so I should not have a problem hooking you up.

Honestly, and this comes from the experience of a childhood so fraught with sinus infection that surgery was on the table at one point, the best thing to take is some Sudafed. Sure it causes that icky dry feeling and makes boogers form in your postnasal area, but it's better than antibiotics, especially if you can't afford the good ones.
