Last night in Spare Oom:

[Emm walks in, notices me listening to tunage while writing]

EMM: What're you listening to?

ME: I'm listening to Radiohead. And I can do it because I'M INDIE, DAMMIT!

EMM: Ooookay... [Walks off laughing]

ME: [Calling out] Hey, I can listen to them without irony because I championed them on my college radio station when "Creep" came out!

EMM: Uh huh.


Tonight, while walking from the kitchen to Spare Oom:

ME: [Walking by Emm on the couch] Tonight? I'm even more indie because tonight I'm listening to Siouxsie and the Banshees!

EMM: [straight face] That doesn't make you indie...that makes you OLD.

ME: ... ^_^;

I changed into a Metallica t-shirt when I got home and then ran some errands. When buying a newspaper at a gas station the young guy behind the counter saw my shirt, asked if I liked Metallica (duh! I am wearing a concert t-shirt!!!) and then *deep breath, I can say this* asked if they were even still a band. When I said yes, he seemed surprised and said "They're getting pretty old aren't they?"
