...apparently the use of the contraction "I'm" on 60 Minutes is a sign of status. Unless I'm reading this wrong, only high-ranking anchors (i.e., Mike Wallace, Morley Safer, etc.) can use that on the show when announcing themselves.

I'm going to have to watch the show one of these days and see if the underlings have to say "This is..." instead.
