Sorry I didn't answer back in your post--been a weird week, what with job and being ill and all... :p

I supposed it would depend on what they wanted to check out...if they don't mind the uber-touristy stuff, our neighborhood is always a good place to have fun! And of course by 'neighborhood' I do mean both Fisherman's Wharf and North Beach. ;) I'd say any of the restaurants on Columbus would be good, especially at the top of the hill where all the Italian spots are. Of course I would suggest Tiernan's, the place we took you that time... :)

If they're looking for nice views and whatnot, I would suggest the following:

--Golden Gate Park (especially the eastern end near the Haight, which has a lot of gardens and stuff...and the middle area, which has the DeYoung and the recently opened Academy of Sciences, and the Arboretum across the street from it)
--Twin Peaks (next-to-highest point in the city and a BEAUTIFUL view of the city on a nice day. If they rent a smaller car they can drive up to the top without a problem, though I have seen tour buses up there...)
--Sutro Baths/Cliff House/Ocean Beach (we took you there as well)
--SF Zoo! :)
--Coit Tower (that tower in our neighborhood)
--Ferry Building (esp. on Saturday with the farmer's market--free eats! :p )

Overall, I'd agree that though taking the RV to town is okay, they're better off taking either a rental car or public transit around town, given the hills and tight corners...

Hope that helps! :)

Thanks! I'm going to cut and paste this into an email for my neighbors.

You know, I need a "thank you" type of icon. Must ponder!
