New external (500gb) hard drive--check.
New USB 7-plug hub--check.
O/S Reinstall disk--woefully MIA. :(

So we're halfway done here. I have to bite the bullet and order a new reinstall disk (which from eMachines isn't all that much). But I'm not too worried about that, because that's going to be the LAST thing I'll do. I need to do an internal HD backup first. Which, of course, is why I have the 3rd XHD. ;)

I only have one other remaining problem, though.

I think I may have run out of outlets to plug things in. I may need to do some creative maneuvering... :p

Can you just download a system reinstall disk from eMachine? For some reason I thought I saw that on their website at some point.

I could certainly do that if you point me in the right direction, because I can't find it anywhere!

hmm, can't find it on their site. I swear I found it once but that may have been a loong time ago. Maybe even before XP.

And you know, if you're re-installing XP entirely it probably need to be specifically keyed to a license number anyway. There are recovery cds available out there in the torrents, butt hat may just be for getting our system going if it won't boot.
