Computer woes. Still. :(
Oct. 4th, 2008 09:16 pmOkay, so on the offchance that it was the printer, I went out and bought a rather nice one on sale at Best Buy tonight, and went to install it, figuring that would update whatever went wrong...
aaaand, nope.
I can't install the printer.
Something got effed up on this PC, and I'm not sure what it is. According to random Microsoft sites and error messages that come up, it's either the Remote Procedure Call not working, a random .dll not working, or the spooler is all shot to hell.
*sigh*
I'm going to start this again tomorrow. I've wasted most of the day trying to figure out what the hell is wrong and not getting anywhere.
Of course, any suggestions, short of throwing said PC out the window, would be helpful.

Date: 2008-10-06 01:15 am (UTC)There's also the fact that, like I said, everything else on Windows is acting completely fine, so that's why I'm
thinkinghoping I don't have to take that desperate of a step. The annoying thing is that I don't think I have a reformat/reinstall disk, at least one I can find readily, if it comes to that. But at this point I'm not going to worry about it until I get back from vacation.
Of course, saving all my really important things like writing and random mp3s on the externals would probably be a good idea too. ;)
