jon_chaisson...I'm reading Cheers & Jeers, and they're mentioning how on this day back in 1868, Christopher Latham Sholes received his patent for the "type-writer".
The amusing thing? It goes to this link about the invention. The typewriter in the picture?
My dad has--and still uses--a typewriter JUST LIKE THAT MODEL. :)
In fact, I believe my first forays into writing were on that typewriter as well...
