I told Emm that I was going to do something tomorrow that I rarely do anymore: buy CDs on the release day. I used to be REALLY bad about that for a good few years there, but now that I'm safely out of Newbury Comics' clutches, I've been good.

But this week? Death Cab's new one drops. I am SO tempted to buy it tomorrow. That, and the new Filter. (I think I can do without the Iron Maiden's Greatest Hits, tempting though it may be...)

I'll definitely buy the DCFC since we have all their other stuff on CD, but I might end up downloading the Filter one instead, since I got rid of the cds.

Next week: new Dresden Dolls, which includes a cover of Pretty in Pink.

I'll just let that sink in for a moment there...

(and the digital release next month also includes a cover of Janes' Addiction's "I would for you")

You're in that band, aren't you? All this time, gaining fame post-TFB and never telling me...*snif*

Yes, I'm the androgynous and sexually ambiguous drummer.

I'm looking forward to new Death Cab. They are playing outside, downtown at the end of the month. I'm thinking of going.

There's a new album by an artist named Duffy that I'm thinking of getting. The Irons best of is intriguing as well. And I was amazingly surprised at how good the new Neil Diamond album is. His work with Rick Rubin is almost as good as Johnny Cash's work with him...

Yeah, the Duffy album is calling to me as well...I'm really liking "Mercy" a lot. So now I'm wondering if I should buy on the drop day or wait until this weekend to head to Amoeba to buy it...

I got to go to the Hollywood Amoeba when I was in Smell-A last summer. That place was a complete and total experience. I so can't wait to go back. I'd like to check out the one in San Francisco next time I go there. I think there's one there...

That, and walk the Golden Gate Bridge. Neat little dreams we all have, right?

Yep, definitely one in SF...that's the one I go to, since I live there! :)

I love that city. Couldn't begin to afford living there, and it's probably too far on the Liberal Twinkie side of things politically (I'm more of a radical moderate...), but it's such a great place to visit. We were there 4 years ago. Did the whole tourist thing, even the Golden Gate in a firetruck bit, which was fun.

You ever get to see Tommy Castro? I got a friend lives out there who sees him from time to time. I'd love to catch his show sometime. Man, can he play and sing...

Heh. For Death Cab I did something I'd never done before -- pre-ordered. I've got it downloaded now and am about to listen to the new album. . . .
