Mmm, muffins

I am currently enjoying a poppy seed muffin and coffee from Happy Donut from downstairs (their French Vanilla and Hawaiian Kona coffees are Da BOMB). I've been good lately and not snacked in awhile, so I figure a muffin for brunch now and again won't hurt.
This begs the question, though...why is it that there are NO CORN MUFFINS in San Francisco? I see bran, blueberry, almond, and all the other kinds...but no corn muffins. What. So. Ever.
emmalyon has made some for me in the past (and I am very thankful for that), but every now and again, I am sorely tempted to stop at a diner and get one of those grilled corn muffins slathered in butter, just like the kind I'd get at Cinnamon's back home.
I dunno...I just find it weird that the most whitebread of muffins in the world and they're hard to find here. Weird...
