Slow on the uptake

So we're watching videos on VH1 again this Saturday morning, and it's been a good eight or nine times I've seen the Kanye West video for "Stronger", and it FINALLY dawns on me--

The non-rap, non-dancing parts of the video? Literally straight out of AKIRA.

I should have noticed that earlier!! Sheesh.

Maybe someday when I don't have an 8 year odl about I will be able to watch VH1 with impunity.

Seen the alternate take of that other video with Zach Gallifinakis and Bonnie PRince Billy Oldham? It is teh rawking like Steve Hawking!

Well, being that a)I was too busy being amused by Kanye's rhyme schemes (Appolonia/Isotoner, Klondike, blonde dyke, etc. :p ) and the Daft Punk sample to make the connection, and b)It's probably been a good 5 or 6 years since I've watched AKIRA, believe it or not...
