While the cat's away
Dec. 1st, 2017 10:52 amI'll be taking an early lunch so I can drive A to the airport. She's heading out on a week's vacation to London, and yes of COURSE I'm insanely jealous, even if the weather there is cold. London is our favorite place to visit! She's heading out today and will be coming back next Friday.
Which means that I'll have an entire week to myself here. This usually means that I'll do my best to eat decently (this lasts until midweek I think), go to bed a little later than usual (like 11pm or thereabouts) and hole up in Spare Oom and have a few marathon writing days. Last time she was away I made it a point to get outside now and again, even if it was just to walk up to the bank to get laundry quarters. I've also come to enjoy heading to the farmer's market on Sunday to pick up some healthy greens and a few bottles of lassi. And maybe a brief sojourn to the bookstore. Heh. Although I do have a valid reason for sticking close to home the next few days...I'm expecting a few packages for Christmas presents!
Seriously, though...I'm really not all that bad when it comes to bachelor times like this. A likes to tease me about how obsessive I am about keeping the place clean, and my body doesn't really enjoy Really Horrible Eating Habits anymore. (Not that that'll stop me from buying a bag of chips or some Tastykakes or something, just for the hell of it. I just don't make it a daily habit.) When the cat's away, the blind mice aren't playing but are usually just sitting around listening to music and drinking too much coffee. :)
Speaking of music, it's a good day for new releases, especially the fact that the new U2 is out today (woohoo!). So that should keep me busy as well!
