Very odd dream courtesy of being somewhat ill last night. Had a busy schedule with work, picking up people, and driving around town trying to find parking, but eventually made it to a large gathering at a school, where I met up with a bunch of people I've known throughout the years, from high school to college to work, along with others I didn't know so well. We were all gathering here because supposedly there was supposed to be some big 'end of the world' thing going on...like some life cycle was ending. Not exactly the Rapture, or the Apocalypse, or the destruction of 2012, but we didn't exactly know what was going to happen. Some of us slept through the night but some like me stayed up because we didn't want to miss anything. The interesting thing is that we were all distracted by all sorts of things (catching up with friends, being irritated that this event wasn't working out as planned, playing games, etc) so midnight came and went. The next morning I'm handed the local Sunday paper (I knew it was Sunday because it was thick with multiple sections)...and am quite irritated to see a large pull-out section advertising a "post-event" sale--no idea what they're selling, but they're jumping on the end-of-the-world bandwagon something fierce. I look dejectedly at the ads and think Really? We've gotten that bad?

I have to say this is the one thing I like about being sick--my dreams tend to be all weird. :)

Me and a goat at Disneyland, as promised/threatened. :)

Wow. Sitting through a Love and Rockets three-fer, listening to Seventh Dream of Teenage Heaven, Express and Earth Sun Moon, and I'd almost forgotten how much I love those albums. Even more so, how they inspired some of my more acoustic and meandering Flying Bohemians songs from 1989 onwards ("Lift Your Heart Up (In Your Hands)" and the once-recorded "A Dream of Someone" are heavily inspired by these, to the point that I think I stole a few of their riffs in the process).

You know, I'm 39, I may as well grow old gracefully by shamelessly embracing all the retro music I've been listening to lately. Never thought I'd admit to that, but hey--you levitate towards what you love most, right? ;)
