jon_chaissonSo it's only 11am and I already have this nagging feeling that I should be writing, despite my having just finished a major project. I know that some time this afternoon I'll pull up the ol' MS Word and start typing away at something, though I'm not sure what. I don't want to work on the LLB rewrite just yet; just like all the other projects I've done, I like to take a day or so to do something else before I go back to it.

I've been emailing back and forth with one of my sisters lately--she's been slowly selling off my record collection. Yes, you heard that right--she's selling it off!! When Emm and I visited a few months back I made an extremely quick run-through of my vinyl collection, pulled out everything Beatles-related (can't get rid of that stuff now, I mean, that's just sacrilege.), had her tape a few songs and albums for me, and get rid of the rest. She and my dad have been going to random used record stores to sell the stuff. She gets to keep the money, since she's doing the job I should have been doing! :p
The upshot of this is that it seems kind of strange that I no longer have the 5000+ title collection that I used to have. Even most of my cd collection has been pruned severely. The only cassettes I really have left are the TFB and jeb! tapes and the compilations I've made over the years. I no longer have a music collection that's taking up an insane amount of space; most of it has been meticulously transferred to mp3 and is now sitting in an external hard drive that's slowly reaching towards its limit in fullness.

It's now 1.30 in the afternoon, the weather is beeyootiful outside, and Emm and I have just finished: a)cleaning out the closet, b)rearranging the dvds, and c)having fries for lunch. :p We plan to: a)go outside and enjoy the day at some point, b)catalog books we're getting rid of (her), and c)gather everything together that we're going to give to Goodwill next week. I'm not sure if this is because it's a new year or not, but they were projects that needed to be done. I just need to do a little more cleaning, a little more rearranging, (oh, and I need to take a shower, disgusting me!) and this will end up a good, productive day. :-)

Just remembered that this time last year, Emm and I were walking on Ocean Beach, and I was barefoot, walking in the water. Not something a New Englander can say they did on New Year's Day! :p Not sure where we're going to go today, but it's a good day for it! We'll be taking cameras too so there will be posting at some point... :-)
