Writer's Block: AKA

Most of you already know...jonc + writer = joncwriter! :p

And yes, it's pronounced "jonc", not "jon-see". A lot of people who ask for my email usually make that mistake, strangely enough. It comes from high school, when I had this running joke in a story I was writing with head58 and others where everyone was referred to by their first name and the initial of their last name, smooshed together. I've used Jonc as a nickname ever since.

I should tell you all about the Vanishing Misfits story in an RTS post one of these days...

Anton, I Blame You!

So after a nice big ol' plate o' pancakes at one of our favorite local small cafes, we decided to head to the local B&N so I could do my civic duty and buy antonstrout's Deader Still.

And ended up buying Jo Walton's Farthing, Michael Chabon's Maps & Legends: Reading and Writing Along the Borderlands, and Last Watch, the lastest in the Night Watch series by Sergei Lukyanenko. And Carola Dunn's The Bloody Tower for my wife.

Anton, this spending spree is all your fault. :p

[Vacation] So Far...

Slept in...sort of. Woke up a little before 7am (try as we might, we can never quite sleep in late). Went to brunch at Pat's Cafe for pancakes (me) and biscuits and gravy (Emm). Stopped at Barnes & Noble for book buying (see previous post), and also to Cost Plus next door to buy some wine and other fun stuff.

After that? A bit of gaming on the Wii, then playing around at Project Gutenberg to catch up on some old literature I should have read a long time ago. Now have the full selection of Baum's Oz books, which I've been meaning to read for ages.

And now?
Coffee and watching a Rick Steves marathon.

I love vacations... :)
