I concur with [livejournal.com profile] emmalyon that you're a great Jersey band.

And can I just say that this song that just played is very us...? :p

She's Got a Way

My girl, she's extraordinary
My girl, she's different from the rest
She is truth combined with fiction
A lovely contradiction
But you'll only see the part of her she wants you to see

Yes, you'd understand if you knew her like I do
I just do what I can to keep up on her points of view
And laugh to myself when it's over my head
Yes, she's got a way all her own

Sometimes she baffles and confounds me
I'm fine when she wraps her arms around me
When I finally figured out I'll never figure her out
That's when I begin to understand just what she's all about

Yes, you'd understand if you knew her like I do
I just do what I can to keep up on her points of view
And laugh to myself when it's over my head
Yes, she's got a way all her own

She smiles and the questions disappear
She cries and only God knows why she's here

Yes, you'd understand if you knew her like I do
I just do what I can to keep up on her points of view
And laugh to myself when it's over my head
'cause she's got a way all her own

Yes, she's got a way all her own
She's got a way all her own

1 - Of all the things currently inside your fridge, what is the thing you like best?
Currently? The pot roast [livejournal.com profile] emmalyon made last night, and what we had for lunch today as well. YUM!

2 - Pick a quote, any quote, and share it here. It may or may not be apropos to the season.
"That music right there? That's what video games are made of."--my coworker Jose, while listening to A Flock of Seagulls

3 - Of all the weather you've experienced in the last 7 days, what was you favourite moment?
Seeing blue sky when only about ten minutes earlier it was filled with dark clouds and raining like the end times. I tell you, SF weather here is as wacky as New England's. ;)

4 - Regardless of what you celebrate, or when, or why, what was your favourite gift that you received recently?
I'm really looking fowrard to playing with the Photoshop software that Emm got me! She's actually scared of what I'd be getting up to with it... :p

5 - If you have pets, do they behave differently when you are home more than usual (ie, days off as opposed to when you are at work most of the time)?
*snif* No pets allowed here. :( Although we're constantly amused by Window Cat across the street and the look of OMG on its face when a bird flies by. We're also convinced that the cat is the sole occupant of that apartment, as we've never seen the owners.

6 - Post one favourite photo you've taken this year and tell why you like it.

I just thought the Bay Bridge looked really cool with the fog eating it up. I might tweak this picture in Photoshop, make it look a bit more ominous... :p

7 - Have you made any new friends this year?
I believe I have a few new friends on my LJ this year. *waves* :)

8 - Have you read more books this year than last? Is that something you consciously try to do or doesn't it matter one way or another?
Probably the same as last year, but at least I'm more consistent than in years past. And I also have a pile of "read then discard" next to my bed, which is helping weed out the collection.

9 - How many 2009 calendars do you have?
Let's see...got one free at work...got one from Emm to replace the one on the fridge (another antique map one), and two tiny desk calendars from my mom (they're from Athol Savings Bank), one of which I'll use at work. So four, I guess. :p

10 - Did you learn or try anything new this year (a skill, a hobby, a food, anything)?
Considering at the beginning of the year I didn't know squat about EDI, I'd have to say I learned a whole hell of a lot at my job that I never thought I'd learn. And I tried completelly mapping out a novel through outline, something I've never fully done before...and I'd like to think I did pretty good. ;)
jon_chaisson: (Citgo Sign)
We just finished watching Not a Photograph: The Mission of Burma Story on our Netflix Roku...EXCELLENT documentary of one of the best Boston bands ever. And it really made me realize where Interpol got their sound and why I like them so much...and how much they really did sound like early Wire...and how you just don't hear kickass angular punk like this much nowadays. I also have to say I was greatly amused by the high ratio of New England celebrities in this film, both past and present... :p

Highly recommended!!
