I have picked up a small bottle of Jameson Irish Whiskey from our local packie liquor store (the well-known and well-stocked Coit Liquor up the street at Washington Square Park), picked up some heavy cream at our trip to Trader Joe's, and of course we're well-stocked with coffee.

The Irish Coffee making will commence sometime this afternoon. :)

Paul wants to release "Carnival of Light". One of the rarest of Beatles tracks (right up there, I think, with the 27-minute version of "Helter Skelter"), and Paul's been trying to release it for quite some time. It was very nearly on Anthology 3, except that George was against it (he famously quipped that it was their failed attempt at experimentalism, calling it "avant garde a clue"). I'm pretty sure it'll be listed alongside "What's the New Mary Jane" and "Revolution 9" as being only for purists but otherwise unlistenable, but I'm quite curious about it myself. Maybe because I'm a completist, no? :p

Stuff done today, so far:

--Shopping at World Market for Irish Coffee mugs ($1.99 each! w000t!) and more wine (Vampire pinot at $2.99! SWEET!)
--Random shopping at B&N (meh, didn't find anything I wanted, ah well)
--More shopping at Trader Joe's for stuff we forgot
--Laundry

Stuff remaining to do
--Writing
--Make promised Irish Coffee
--Watch football and/or Roku/NetFlix stuff
--start going through box of stuff my sister mailed to me

EDIT: I'll probably go through the box o' stuff at a later date when I have the time and space to do so. There's a lot of paper and whatnot in there that needs wading through. And there was a piece of art I'd done in high school, painted on glass, that unfortunately didn't make the trip (no fault of yours, Kat--USPS just wasn't too careful with the box, and I'm not bothered that it didn't make it :) ), so there are glass bits in random places I have to watch out for.

All went well with the Irish Coffee, except that I think I needed to whip the cream a bit, as it all sort of sank to the bottom and mixed in with the coffee. No big, though...I put just the right amount of whiskey in (Jameson is TASTY, btw), so it was very much an even whiskey/coffee mix.

Next time I'll whip the cream first! :p
