Okay! That went a lot smoother and took a lot less time than I'd expected. Not that I'm complaining, mind you. I'm just a worrywart that will find out that I magically erased something or plugged something somewhere I shouldn't have. Basically, that's what I did--I unplugged everything, cleaned everything up, then replugged it back in.

The PC is now out of the cupboard area and underneath the computer, breathing better air (and a lot cleaner, post-dusting). It's a lot easier to reach, and even easier to get to the back if I need to fix something back there. The USB hub I bought (BEST. PURCHASE. EVAR.) works great, and is now sitting on a board above the PC, along with the externals. All the hardware is now in a breathable place, which was my main concern.

Many of the wires have been shored up, thanks to twisty-ties and rubber bands, and the computer is now split between two different power strips separate from the TV and other appliances. Which also means that there are empty outlets. That was my worry, that there were way too many things plugged in on the power strips.

And now that the new external is up, I copied a number of files to it from the C drive. I was contemplating copying some of the programs, but I realized that it would just make a lot more sense to just redownload most of them from their sites, that way I can get the most updated version.

So! That means all I need do now is just wait for my copy of the OS disc to come in (I ordered it yesterday from eMachines), then I'll do the reinstall and redownloads. In the meantime...more writing!!! :D

Oh, and...
