Something you don't see too often...
Sep. 3rd, 2006 09:51 amA little over thirty miles south of San Francisco, in Half Moon Bay:

Cows on a farm (across the street from one of those farmstands), with the Pacific Ocean about 2000 feet away in the background.
----------
I'm so used to seeing oceanside property = prime real estate = tourist trap, as it so often is up in New England, that seeing long stretches of farmland, small family beaches with no hotels or touristy tchotchke stands in sight, and just a lot of pristine coastline is a welcome change. Driving on Cabrillo Highway (Route 1) was probably one of the most fun things I've done out here so far. It's like the other Route 1 on the other side of the country, just a lot of two-lane blacktop hugging the coast, going through various small towns.
I definitely want to take this trip again at some point! :)
