Thanks to answering my previous post, people! I have now gotten rid of Launchcast. Even though I was pretty much at Fanatic status, I couldn't find a good reason to keep it. I'm now going to be listening to my MusicMatch (and to a lesser extent, my iTunes and Napster players) and whatever free internet radio stations are out there. It just wasn't worth it anymore.

Now I'm debating getting rid of a few other things as well. Although it's only $5 a year (literally) for Webshots--basically a funky wallpaper/screensaver program where I can download some purdy pictures--I'm debating whether or not I want to keep it. I've used it for the last few years and have had no problem with it, but like any other shiny toy I've grown out of it. Sure, the pictures are nice, and I like the calendar function that comes with it.

I guess what I'm getting at is that I seem to have quite a few bells and whistles with this computer that I don't necessarily need. I should probably update the McAfee programs I have, but aside from that I don't think I need a lot of the stuff I have. My computer is only about three years old, and truth be told I haven't had many problems with it, but it's starting to slow down a little bit and I haven't been doing hard drive scans as much as I should, and I'd like to keep this pc as long as I can before buying a new one. This is my first pc that's fully mine and not a refurb or a hand-me-down. I just want to see how long this one lasts.

For now, though, I'm keeping MusicMatch. In all honesty I love the program, but I only wish that a new version would come out that would replace the troublesome latest version (and I'm not the only one who's experienced MM breakdown, according to various web boards...). I'll keep iTunes and Napster, because even though I rarely use them, they have a great song selection and when I DO use them, with one or two steps I can add them to the MM library. As for other programs, perhaps some time this weekend I should go through and remove some of the stuff I don't even use anymore. I did that once before, but I need to do it again to clean everything out. I'm wondering if the fact that I once had a good chunk of my music on my hard drive before I dragged it over to the external might have made it a bit slow too...hmm...

Anyway. Time to do some PC cleaning. :p
