...while I wait for the moving guys to come and pick up some of these boxes that are destined for the file room! I don't want to be sitting here all day if I don't have to, but it looks like that may just happen...

-------------------

First off, while being all sickeningly romantical with Emm this morning, I somehow managed to say I'd do "anything for my sweetie", to which she replies: "Even getting rid of your cds?"

Well. Interesting thought, that.

First I said, "Meaning yours too?" Heh.

Then I said, "On one condition--buy me a second external hard drive with a butterfly link dealie" (whatever they're called) "and I can rip everything and get rid of them."

Funny, though, that for a moment or three, I actually entertained the thought. And I'm still entertaining the thought, as I type this. So far I've gotten rid of a very huge amount of stuff out of my collection, with still a few more run-throughs of the collection to thin it out even more. Now I'm thinking that if it comes to it, I could just as easily rip everything I have onto the external drive and relieve myself of the cd burden. After all, as Emm has said more than once, "It's just stuff." I'll keep all Beatle-related stuff, of course, because that would just go against everything I've ever lived for since buying 1967-1970 back in 1978. But everything else can, and just may, go. I'd leave them in the care of Lynxie, of course, who can do with them what he wants. He can sell them, give them to h58, or use them for skeet practice.

We'll see what I decide.

More tunage downloaded last night:

The Like, "What I Say and What I Mean"
Gomo, Best of Gomo (for Emm as my pathetic attempt at an extremely late birthday present)
Hot Hot Heat, "Middle of Nowhere"
The Streets, "Fit But You Know It"
The 5.6.7.8's, "Woo Hoo" (the song on those Vonage commercials)

I also made a "Best of IMF, vol. 1" compilation, which I'll have to copy for myself since it came out so amazingly well. Or at least copy the track listing so I can make a playlist out of it.

I miss writing. I only wish I had the time to do it now!

And the ironic thing is that I'm saying this during NaNoWriMo.

Well, honestly, I have time to do it, I just don't have a fixed project to be working on. Gabriel & Cassandra is in need of some outlining, the trilogy is still on the backburner (although the temptation to pick it up again is coming back, which is a good thing), and my original idea of rewriting the IWN for NaNo fell by the wayside when news of the move came. Perhaps I could try my hand at a few short stories, but nothing is biting at the moment. I can't think of anything offhand to write about that would make a good short.

Well, once we're in SF, this will all change, I'm sure. :)

Who knew that I would actually enjoy drinking Fresca again?

--------------------

Jones' Candy Corn Soda. EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEVIL. Even by my standards.

--------------------

HELP! I'm tempted to stop by B&N after work today and pick up the new Depeche Mode cd! This goes against my whole downloading/cd-ripping idea! SOMEONE STOP ME!

--------------------

Yet another Beatles book out, this one by Bob Spitz. So....tempting....Grrrgkk...

--------------------

GAH! It's the Fall Out Boy song on K-ROCK2.com! AIIIIIIIIIEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

--------------------

Okay, going to post this now. I'm getting a bit silly here....must...not...go...stir crazy....
