urnesha's meme...
Aug. 17th, 2005 08:35 amYeah, I figured I'll do this as well (rather than actually get some work done... :p )
10 years ago - August 1995...depressed, annoyed, and flat broke. I'd leave Boston and move back home. On a much more positive side however, I'd soon be refocusing all my random energy into writing. The rest as they say is history.
5 years ago - August 2000...one month into my stay at Yankee Candle, after being given the choice to either "stay at HMV and do a better job" or "leave and start something else" by EVIL STORE MANAGER. Who gave me those choices while pretty much mocking me IN FRONT OF MY FACE. YC pays more but second shift sucks. Two months later I switch to first shift and stay there until March of this year, the longest I've ever held a job.
1 year ago - August 2004...right about the time that
emmalyon and I started emailing/LJ posting/etc...we'll finally meet during Worldcon in Boston. They rest as they say is history. ;)
Yesterday - Rejoiced that my ear blockage had gone away. Scanned documents. Emailed documents. Did some shopping. Called home and talked with the family for a good hour. Completely failed to get any writing done. >:(
5 bands/artists that I know the lyrics to most of their songs - Only 5? Heh! Okay...the Beatles, Wire, The La's (not hard--only one album!), Porcupine Tree, and the Cure!
5 things I would do with $100,000,000 - I could buy you some art, like a Picasso or a Garfunkel. *ahem* sorry. Let's see...pay all the bills, give some to me and Emm's families, buy the rights to a few Beatles songs, buy a house, and retire comfortably so I can devote all my time to writing.
5 locations I would like to run away to - Scotland (yeah, I loved Glasgow that much!), Ireland, Japan (where most of that $100,000,000 would be spent on buying anime and j-pop cds), Ontario, and perhaps India. Hell, I like to keep my options open...
5 bad habits I have - snoring, procrastinating, not always paying attention, caffeine, and the complete and utter failure of keeping myself from coming out with excruciatingly bad puns.
5 t.v. shows I like(d) - The X-Files, Foster's Home for Imaginary Friends, Looney Tunes, the Grim Adventures of Billy and Mandy, and Twin Peaks. Three cartoon shows and two weird shows...that must say something about me...
5 biggest joys at the moment -
emmalyon (cue: Awwwww....), my writing, my music, reading, and cartoons. The rest is icing on the cake. :D
