And in the meantime...
Mar. 25th, 2005 03:53 pmKeeping busy.
Got one more week with the temp job I'm at (they said they might hold me over, but I'm kinda hoping I get something a little more challenging next time...) and then it's back to the weekly calling. Whee! I told
emmalyon that doing the temp thing has miraculously lifted a lot of stress from me, i.e. gruelling hours of doing the same thing, day in day out, and given me extra time to do my writing, which I'm really happy about. Honestly, though, I'm hoping that after 4/1 I'll get some juicier job openings, either from the place I'm at or the others I'm currently listed with. So yeah, on the job front, all is well so far... And Emm is taking me out tomorrow as a celebration for getting a job so quickly! We're doing sushi! :D
On the flipside, Emm is heading out to AZ this weekend and I'm gonna miss her like no tomorrow. It's only gonna be three weeks (or so), and I know I'll be able to deal (I mean, we had a 200+ mile distance between us in the first few months of our relationship!!), but it's gonna be strange. And to top it off, I've been put in charge of the cooking. Thank god we have those Rachel Ray books, or it would be spaghetti one night and omelletes the next. ;)
Oh--and my first impressions of NJ so far? It's amazing how many cars, trucks and other automobiles have dings and dents and scrapes and things missing in this state. I know it's par for the course in this state, and to tell you the truth, driving here is very much like "go now and think about it later." Which I don't mind, but it's gotten to the point where a ding on my car will no longer mean an attack upon my personal space (there's a reason my car is called Bonaparte ;) ) but would actually be a rite of passage.
Other than that, NJ is fine and dandy. Don't mind it at all.
