Gridlock

I have never seen downtown traffic in San Francisco as FUBAR'd as it was tonight. I can't find any reason for it online, not that I haven't tried. I usually take the F Train from Van Ness where I work, all the way up Market and onto the Embarcadero then home. I get out of work at 6pm, and I'm usually home between 6:30-6:45, depending on traffic.

Tonight it was nearing 6:20 and I'd only gone five stops. The traffic was THAT bad. I have no clue why, but I was getting a bit annoyed and I needed to get home so Emm and I could go out to dinner with her parents. So I ended up getting out at Powell and walking the entirety of Stockton--which, mind you, isn't exactly steep but there's a steady incline up to Chinatown. And the gridlock had gone through Stockton Street Tunnel at least up to Clay Street...

So naturally, halfway home, I remembered that VP Dick Cheney was in the area (he was in Menlo Park today, down near Palo Alto). I figure I can blame him for the congestion today. :p

I've stopped trying to figure out traffic. Exercise in futility...

Where you live, I think that is the only path to true innner peace. Or something.

Makes sense to me to blame Dick Cheney. :D
