Jun. 28th, 2006 07:49 pmEmm and I spent the afternoon in Sausalito, a small town across the bay which reminds her of going down the Shore and me of going up to Maine. It's a nice little touristy town and there are a lot of nifty little stores and galleries to go to. And yes, I took pictures! Here are a few...

This is heading out from Pier 41. As you can see, it was one hell of a foggy day today. At least in San Francisco... :p

As you can see, we just so happened to be going past Alcatraz...

Sausalito has their own version of sea lions...this is one on the shore, with Angel Island across the way.

This is part of the strip of Sausalito, south of the ferry terminal looking north.

Well, it was sunny in town! Here's the view of SF from Sausalito. Yep, lots o' fog!

Looking down the main street, we see the peak of Mt. Tamalpais, aka Mt. Tam, a well-known camping/bike riding site.

We had some time to kill before the ferry brought us back so we hung out at one of the small parks in town. It had a wonderful view of Tiburon and Angel Island across the way.

On the way back we rode past Angel Island, which is now a State Park. There are a few buildings there, but not many. This group interested me, and after some searching on WikiPedia, I found that it's the former US Army Camp Reynolds. I swear, this whole island looked familiar. It wouldn't surprise me if I saw it in a movie somewhere...

Look! You can kinda sorta see the Golden Gate Bridge! It's in the fog there somewhere... :p

And yet another picture of Alactraz...

...And home again! :)
Oh, and one more picture, this one for
_nimisha_. :)

I saw the store name and thought of you, Nim. :p
Hope you enjoyed that! :)
