The source of the explosions last night.
Jun. 14th, 2006 04:21 pmI asked the woman at the rental office just a few minutes ago.
Some asshat decided to see what happened when spraypaint cans strayed too close to a source of high heat.
I shit you not.
So yeah, the building's fine. No transformer blew, no structural damage (aside from a cracked skylight). The roof shack is burnt out, but that's it.
And here's the extent of the embers.

*shakes head*
-------
On the bright side, it made me realize that I really should buy a memory stick for my writing. I'm sure I can get it all on one of those, and it's a lot safer than carrying a rewritable cd that could crack or get damaged. Something to look into...

Date: 2006-06-14 11:49 pm (UTC)Some people call me paranoid. I think it's smart. All the backups in the world won't save you if they are in your home and it's destroyed. I think, were I more organized, that I'd keep scans/electronic copies of other important life papework as well (like birth cert, tax stuff, etc.)
