BOOOM!

and then silence.

Then me saying "WTF?" as I walk into the bedroom.

Then people across the street yelling "It's on the roof! It's on the roof!"

I look out the window and see flames. Both Emm and I think that it's across the street, but then I realize, it's actually the reflection of our building.

My first thought, other than the both of us getting out of the apartment as quickly and safely as we can?

Shit. I really should have my writing with me.

Well, as far as I know, it was a transformer blowing. Pretty frikkin' loud, I tell you. People are back inside, but the fire trucks are still out there and I've a feeling that they're going to be out there a little while longer.

So yeah, that was our evening.

I think we're going to call in late to work tomorrow.

That's what I'm wondering, since the power is still up in our part of the building. I'm going to stop at the rental office and ask them if they know what happened. Luckily we have renter's insurance so it wouldn't be a total loss!
