Yipes.

It looks as though we're leaving the East Coast on the 12th instead of the 19th, so disregard that one line from the previous post! It's now 21 days. THREE WEEKS. Ho-Lee Shit, Batman.

So Emm and I have LESS THAN A MONTH to get everything ready for the move. Why do I have the feeling that we don't have enough time to be ready for this?? Why do I also have the feeling that we'll somehow be ready well before then but we'll still be freaking out?

Added to the fact that there's an icky weather front coming our way and WDHA said there might be a dusting of the white stuff we've been hoping to avoid. ARRRRGH! There is NOT going to be snow on my watch! Nosirree!!! X(

Anyway.

Found someone to buy my car. I just paid off the loan so all I need is the title. I should probably call the bank today and ask them how long it would take to get it and if they could speed up the process because I want to sell the damn thing. I got $500 out of the deal, which isn't bad considering the amount of miles I put on the thing--probably a good 110,000 since I bought it in 2000. I'm now commuting with Emm (I'm halfway along her commute) and I even offered to drive and pay for gas. Cuz I'm a nice guy like that. :)

Three weeks.

THREE WEEKS.

Me? Stressed?

Yeah, probably a little bit. ;)

Look at it this way, this may be your last chance to see snow for a while...

Good luck with the packing. :D Remember...books go in small boxes!

Hee! True...I just don't want to drive in the stuff... :p

Thanks! And btw, we won't be doing much of the packing--the moving company will be doing most of it for us! :D

Thanks for the vote of confindence! :) Yeah, this is me during crunch time--a lot of stress and frustration, but in the end it works out just fine... :)

I thought it was the 9th...

And you lived in MA, why the worries about a dusting of snow, what're you, [livejournal.com profile] urnesha?

A) Yes, they're picking up our stuff on the 9th. My last day at work is the day before, so I can be there when the movers come.

B) I don't mind the snow at all...I just HATE driving in it! You've driven in MA during a snowstorm, haven't you? MA is known for plowing some 5 hours after the fact...

Yes, but all in all, it is far better than down here when it comes to snow storms.

Yeah, and I've heard that you're about to get hit with one like any minute now...

It could happen!

Actually, the ice is the problem down here, especially after snow. It thaws in the day and freezes on the roads overnight and there is more salt in my saltshaker on the table than what gets put on the roads sometimes.

I miss good 'ol Boston. By midwinter all cars are white from dried salt no matter what color it was originally. Of course, then they are all red from rust in the summer......

Yeah, and if you drove it to the nearest car wash on a rare sunny winter day, it would be all nice and shiny for a good half a mile before you had to drive through slush and shmutz to get home. Then only the top half would be all shiny and the bottom half would have this great "Offroad" look. ;)

The guy who's buying my car looked at the underside and was rather impressed by it...except for the fact that the small pipes holding the gas and brake lines are pretty rusted out at this point...but hey, he said he'd take it, so I'm not complaining...

Definitely look into a sales agreement from the web that you can print out that makes it an "as-is" sale.
